Team Yoga

Team Yoga was the flagship project of the former Yoga Foundation of the Philippines under its Yoga Mission program. The goal of this project was to bring free yoga instruction to the underprivileged youth through public demonstration and touring production.  The hope was to create public awareness and interest in Yoga through this medium.

In 2002, a team composed of the Mission's best students was formed. Team Yoga 2002 traveled to different venues performing yoga asanas in schools, centers, and theaters. The members of this team were from the free classes that were offered in Pasay, Makati and Quezon Cities.

The Yoga Mission Project Team, Inc.

In 2005, the Yoga Foundation of the Philippines was dissolved but the people behind the Yoga Mission believed in its dream of bringing yoga to the Filipino youth.  Under this new organization, the Yoga Philippines Book Project was developed and published in 2007.

The production of this book project including its accompanying video was a group effort.  The Yogis and Yoginis who appeared in the video and who worked on the book generously provided their time, talent, and services without compensation.

The Yoga Mission Team, Inc. is registered under SEC as a non-stock non-profit organization.

The Mission continues...

Copies of the book with its accompanying video were sold commercially to augment the cost of its production.  However, more than 300 copies are intended to be distributed to public high schools throughout the Philippines this 2009.

The video is now available on Youtube.   Soon the book will also be available in pdf and can be downloaded for free.
